Congratulations One Direction fans, you have gone and done it again.
Despite 2015 being the year of neverending dramz for the thirty million or so peepz who follow 1D, y’know, with Zayn Malik leaving the band, their year-long break being announced and, erm, other stuff… The fans have not lost sight of what is really important.
The One Direction birthday drives have been an ongoing thing for ages now, with the boys’ loyal followers raising money for a specific charity in honour of their individual birthdays.
And this time around, it was Niall Horan’s turn, with the Irish babe turning 22 today (HBD, love) and fans raising over $10,000 for Autism Assistance Dogs in Ireland.
The exact amount, if you’re wondering, is $10,247.17, which is £6,641.93 to us and the Queen.
Pretty amazing effort, we think that you will all agree.
The description on Niall’s birthday JustGiving post explained the cause pretty well, sharing: “One Direction’s Niall Horan has done so much for fans, so we, the fans, would like to give back.
“In honor of his 22nd birthday, we are collecting donations for the Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland. You can read all about our latest efforts at 1dfansgive.com or follow us on our twitter and/or YouTube channel.
“We will also selling t-shirts and other gear with the proceeds going to this charity drive.”
With the charity’s official page summing up what they do with: “AADI is a national charity providing assistance dogs for children with autism & their families.
“Our dogs provide invaluable support & have life changing effects. Each dog costs €15,000 to train.
